An innovative website for a NZ innovation; the first all-electric hydrofoil ferry.

Our Opportunity

Seachange is a startup offering all-electric hydrofoil ferry transportation for people and cars through Cook Straight. With the promise to launch in 2 years time they needed a website that showcased the innovative technology behind the venture, increase their brand awareness and entice stakeholders prior to the launch of their services.

Our Challenge

Ghost Street was approached by Fuman, our design partners, to design and develop the Sea Change website. The website would need to educate and showcase the future-forward technology in an interactive way. Users would also need to be able to pre-purchase and join a waitlist to experience the ferry travel once the services launched.

Our Solution

The final website design embraces the design created by the Fuman team, embracing the color palette and treatments they had defined - key elements of the ferry were displayed via animations and tooltips, and a booking system was developed and deployed to help users reserve a space on the maiden voyage for the vessel.

The Results

The Seachange website gathered critical attention seeing a large surge in traffic following the launch of the new website. After the initial launch buzz the Seachange team has focussed on refining their solution to meet the commercial and market needs of their product.
